New Westminster Bickel-Seagrave was saved from the wreckers crusher just in time as she was headed for the scrap heap.
New Westminster bought this Aerial new in 1946 and was kept in front line service until the mid 1970's.She was re-engined with a new Seagrave 531 V-12 in 1966. In 1977 while practicing the truck tipped over wrecking the ladder. The aerial was not repaired but sold to an auto wrecker. The truck was seen in there yard then went missing for many years finally showing up in Aldergrove in the early 2000's. Knowing this truck had a rare engine
Brian purchased it; removed the engine for rebuilding; painted the old girl red and use it as the welcoming piece at his front gate.
